Assertion: In a stationary wave, there is no transfer of energy.
Reason: There is no outward motion of the distubance from one particle to adjoing particle in a stationary wave.

A

If both assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

B

If both assertion and Reason are true but the reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion

C

If assertion is true but reason is false

D

If both assertion and reason are false.

The correct Answer is:
B

In stationary wave, total energy associated with it is twice the energy of each of incidence and reflected wave. Large amount of energy are stroed equally in standing waves and become trapped with the waves. Hence, there is not transmission of energy through the waves.
