As `q=CV , C` decreases in both the cases.
i. In the first case. `V` remains the same, hence, `q` decreases, due to which force of attraction will dectease.
ii. But in the second case, q will remain the same, hence, force of attraction remains the same So more work will be done in the second case.

Two plates of a parallel plate capacitor are drawn apart, keeping them connected to a battery. Next the same plates are drawn apart from the same initial condition, keeping the battery disconnected, then the work done in both cases are same. Capacitor plates have same charge in both cases and displacements of plates in both cases are also same.

Statement-1 : The plates of a parallel plate capacitor are drawn apart keeping them connected to a battery. Next time, the same plates at same capacitor in the same initial conditions are drawn apart though same distance keeping the battery disconnected. The work done is second case is greater as compared to first. Statement-2 : The force of attraction between the plates decreases gradually in first case while remains constant in second case.

A parallel plate capacitor is charged by connecting it to a battery. The battery is disconnected and the plates of the capacitor are pulled apart to make the separation between the plates twice. Again the capacitor is connected to the battery (with same polarity) then the potential difference between the plates increases when the plates are pulled apart (yes or not)

A parallel plate air capacitor is connected to a battery. If the plates of the capacitor are pulled farther apart, then state whether the following statements are true or false. a. Strength of the electric field inside the capacitor remains unchanged, if the battery is disconnected before pulling the plates. b. During the process, work is done by the external force applied to pull the plates irrespective of whether the battery is disconnected or not. c. Strain energy in the capacitor decreases if the battery remains connected. .

Between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor a dielectric plate in introduced just to fill the complete space between the plates. The capacitor is charged and later disconnected from the battery. The dielectric plate is then slowly drawn out of the capacitor plates. the plot of the potential difference across the plates and the length of the dielectric plate drawn out is

A parallel plate air capacitor is connected to a battery. If plates of the capacitor are pulled farther apart, then which of the following statements is/are correct ?

The separation between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor is made three times while it remains connected to a battery (A) the battery absorbs some energy (B) the electric field between plates remains same (c) the charge on the capacitor decrease by 66.7% (D) some work has to be done by an external agent on the plates

A parallel plate capacitor is charged and the charging battery is then disconnected. If the plates of the capacitor are moved farther apart by means of insulating handles:
