Two spheres of uniform density have masses 10 kg and 40 kg. The distance between the centres of the spheres is 200 m. Find the gravitatioanl force between them.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Data : `m_(1)=10kg, m_(2)=40kg`,
`r=200m, G=6.67xx10^(-11)N.m^(2)//kg^(2),F=?`
`F=(Gm_(1)m_(2))/(r^(2))`
`=(6.67xx10^(-11)N.m^(2)//kg^(2)xx10kgxx40kg)/((200m)^(2))`
`=(6.67xx10^(-11)xx4xx10^(2)N)/(4xx10^(4))=6.67xx10^(-13)N`
The gravitational force between the two spheres `=6.67xx10^(-13)N`.
