Polythene , polyvinyls (PVC , teflon , acrilan , etc.) polystyrene soften on heating and harden on coolong. Such polymers are called thermoplastic polymers. These polymers are linear or slightly branched long chain molecules. Their intermolecular forces of attraction lie in between those of elastomers and fibres. Bakelite and urea -formaldehyde , on the other hand , are thermosetting polymers , These cannot be remelted and reworked.
