For a reaction, `A+BrarrC` Product, the rate equation is `=k[A][B]^(3//2)` Explain whether the reaction is an elementary reaction.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If the given reaction is an elementary reaction, the order of the reaction with respect to 'B' will be 1 . However according to the given rate equation , the order of the reaction with respect to 'B' is `3//2` . Hence , it is not an elementary reaction
