Initial conditions
`P_(1)` of moist gas = 750 mm
`P_(1)` of dry gas = ?
`V_(1) = 100 ml`
`T_(1) = 273 + 15 = 288 K`
Final conditions (NTP)
`P2 = 760 mm, V2 = 91.9 ml, T2 = 273 K` Substituting the values in gas equation, we get `implies (P_(1) xx 100)/(288)= (760 xx 91.9)/(273) implies (760 xx 91.9 xx 288)/(273xx100) = 736.81 mm`
Pressure of dry gas = 736.81 mm
But pressure of moist gas = 750 mm (given)
Vapour pressure of water (aqueous tension) = (750 – 736.81) mm = 13.19 mm
