Write a short note on the cleansing action of detergent.

Explanation

Detergents remove the oil and greasy material which stick to clothes . Detergents are soluble in water and acts as surfactant i.e., they from a thin film which surrounds the oil and grease spots and help in the removal of those spots along with the dirt. As the removel of dirt by detergents involve involve the formation of emulsion, it is called emulsification and detergents are called emulsifiers.
