A charged particle is moved along a magnetic field line. The magnetic force on the particle is

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Magnetic force acting on a change is always perpendicular to its instantaneous velocity. Displacement vector is always directed along velocity, hence, work done by magnetic force is zero. Hence, according to work energy theorem, magnetic force cannot change kinetic enerky of particle.
