A man sold a chair and a table together for `Rs.1,520` thereby making a profit of `25%` on the chair and `10$` on the table. By selling them together for rs 1535 he could have made a profit of `10%` on the chair and `25%` on the table. Find the cost price of each

The correct Answer is:
₹ 600, ₹ 700

Let the CP of a chair be ₹ x and that of a table be ₹ y. Then,
`(125 x )/(100) + (110 y )/(100) = 1520 rArr 25 x + 22y = 30400" "` … (i)
`(110x )/(100) + ( 125 y )/(100) = 1535 rArr 22x + 25 y = 30700" " `... (ii)
On adding (i) and (ii) , we get `47 (x + y ) = 61100 rArr x + y = 1300`.
On subtracting (i) from (ii), we get `3(y - x ) = 300 rArr y - x = 100`.
` therefore x = 600 and y = 700`.
