Statement - I: A very dilute acidic solution of `Cd^(2+)` and `Ni^(2+)` gives yellow precipitate of CuS on passing `H_(2)S`
Statement - II : The solubility product of CdS is more than that of NiS

A

Statement - I is true ,Statement - II is also true , Statement - II is the correct explatation for Statement - I

B

Statement - I is true ,Statement - II is true , Statement - II is the correct explatation for Statement - I

C

Statement - I is true ,Statement - II is false

D

Statement - I is false ,Statement - II is true

The correct Answer is:
a

In qualitative analysis of basic radicalls cation `Cd^(2+)` belongs to group II `Ni^(2+)` Belongs to group IV group II radicals are precipitate by passsing `H_(2)S` in acidic solution .They have low value of solubility products .But that of group IV are precipitate by passing `H_(2)S` in alkline solution and have high value of solubility products
Therefore on passing `H_(2)S` in acidic solution a yellow precipirtate of CuS is formed
