An ideal cell having a steady emf of 2 v...

An ideal cell having a steady emf of `2` volt is connected across the potentiometer wire of length `10m`. The potentiometer wire is of magnesium and having resistance of `11.5Omega//m`. An another cell gives a null point at `6.9m`. If a resistance of `5Omega` is put in series with potentiometer wire, find the new position of the null point.

The correct Answer is:
`7.2m`

`E=2/10xx6.9`
`E=1.38 `volt
`1.38=2/((11.5+5))xx11.5xxl'`
`l'=7.2m`
