How does ionisation enthalpy varies amon...

How does ionisation enthalpy varies among group 13 elements .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The ionisation enthalpy should decrease down the group of the periodic table. However the decrease in ionisation enthalpy is sharp from boron to aluminium . This is due to the sharp increase to imperfect shielding effect of completely filled 3d shell .
