Define and explain molar mass.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Molar mass : The mass of one mole of any substance in grams is called its molar mass.
Ex : Molar mass of sulphuric acid = 98 g.
Molar mass of hydrogen
= one gram for a gm atomic mass.
= two grams for a gm molecular mass.
Thus molar masses are atomic weights, molecular weights, formula weights etc. expressed in grams.
