Deduce the relation between angualr acceleration and linear acceleration.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The relation between linear and angular velocity is given by
` v = r omega`
Differentiating the equation with respect to time, we get
`(dv)/(dt) = (rdomega)/(dt) = r alpha ` (r is constant)
Here `(dv)/(dt)` is the tangential acceleration. It is denoted as `a_(1) * (domega)/(dt) ` is the angular acceleration ` alpha ` . Then
`a_(t) = r alpha `
