Nucleophiles which can attack through two different sites, are called ambident nucleophiles. For example, cyanide ion exists as a hydrid of following two structures. It can attack either.

Through carbon to form cyanides (or nitriles) or through nitrogen to form isocyanides (or carbyl amines).
