The length of a DNA molecule in a typical mammalian cell is calculated to be approximately 22 metres. How is the packaging of this long molecule done to accomodate it within the nucleus of the cell ?

Eukaryotic cells posses a set of positively charged, basic proteins called histone rich in Jasic amino acid, residues lysines and arginine. Histones are organized to form a unit of eight molecules, called Histone Octamer. The negatively charged DNAis wrapped around the positively charged Histone Octamer to form a structure called Nucleosome. Atypical nucleosome centains 200 bp of DNA helix and nucleosome forms the repeating unit of a structure of the nucleus called Chromatin.

Assertion : If each strand from a parental DNA acts as template for synthesis of a new strand, the two double stranded daughter DNA thus produced would be indentical to the parental DNA molecule. Reason : The length of DNA double helix in a typical mammalian cell is calculate simply by multiplying the total number of bp with distance two consecutive bp.
