Why is diffusion insufficient to meet the oxygen requirements of multicelluar organisms like humans?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In multicellular organisms , all the cells of body may not be in direct contact with the surrounding source of oxygen i.e. environment , thus simple diffusion will not meet the oxygen requirements of all the cells . These organisms require specialist organs to meet the oxygen requirement.
