State and explain Gauss's theorem in Electrostatics.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Gauss.s Theorem : the total electric flux through a closed surface enclosing a charge is equal to `1//epsilon_(0))` times the charge enclosed.
Mathematically,
`ointvecE.vecds=(q)/(epsilon_(0))`
Where q is the charge , ds is the area vector and E is the electric field intensity.
