Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The given statement is true. Lewis bases generally contain one or more lone pairs of electrons and therefore they can also accept a proton. Hence all Lewis bases also act as Bronsted bases. On the other hand, several Lewis acids, e.g., `BCl_3, AICI_3, Ag^(+) ,Fe^(3+) ` , etc., are unable to furnish protons in solution. Therefore, they cannot act as Bronsted acids. Hence, all Lewis acids are not Bronsted acids.
