The element 119 has not been descovered....

The element 119 has not been descovered. What would be the IUPAC name and symbol for the element? Predict the electronic configuration of the elements and also the formula of the most stable chloride and oxide.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The UIPAC name of the element is Ununennium and its symbol is Uue.. The element must be present in the group 1 of s-Block after Francium (Z=87). The electronic configurationn `[Uuo]^118 8s^1`. Thus it will be an alkali metal. If we denote it as M then formula of the chloride will be MCI and oxide would be `M_2O`.
