If (x+1, y-2)=(3,1), find the values of ...

If `(x+1, y-2)=(3,1)`, find the values of `x` and `y .`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Since the ordered pairs are equal, the corresponding elements are equal.
Therefore ` x+1=3` and `y-2=1
` Solving we get `x=2` and `y=3`
