The base current of a transistor is 105 ...

The base current of a transistor is` 105 muA` and collector current is 2.05mA.
Determine the value of `beta`, `I_(e)` and` alpha`

Text Solution

In common emitter mode of an amplifier Base current `= I_(b)= 105 mu A= 105 xx 10^(-6) A`
Collector current `=I_(c)= 2.05 mu A= 2.05 xx 10^(-6)A`
D.C current gain `=beta= (I_(c))/(I_(b))= (2.05 xx 10^(-6))/(105 xx 10^(-6))`
`beta= 0.001952 = 19.52 xx 10^(-4)`
Change in base current `= Delta I_(b)= 27 mu A`
Change in collector current `=Delta I_(c)= 0.65 mu A`
AC current gain `= (Delta I_(c))/(Delta I_(b))= (0.65)/(27) = 0.02407`
`=24.07 xx 10^(-3)`
