Which are required for the maintenance of uterus and thus, mensturation does not occur. On `14^(th)` day of the menstrual cycle. there is rapid increase in LH (called LH surge), that induces ovulation. The changes in the ovary and the uterus are induced by change in the level of ovarian hormones and pituitary hormones, if fertilisation occurs, corpus luteum degenerates by `16^(th)` week of pregancy.
