Does the magnifying power of a microscope depend on colour of light used ? Justify your answer.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Magnifying power of a compound microscope is `M = (L)/(f_0)(1 + (d)/(f_e))`
As `f_0 and f_e` both depend on colour of light, therefore, magnifying power of a microscope does depend upon colour of light.
