Two liquids of densities rho and 3rho ha...

Two liquids of densities `rho` and 3rho` having volumes 3V and V are mixed together. Find density of the mixture.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, density of first liquid, `rho_(1)=rho`
Density of second liquid, `rho_(2)=3rho`
Volume of first liquid, `V_(1)=3V`
Volume of second liquid , `V_(2)=V`
`therefore` Density of the mixture
`rho_(m)=(rho_(1V_(1)+rho_(2)V_(2)))/(V_(1)+V_(2))=(rhoxx3V+3rhoxxV)/(3V+V)=(6rho)/(4)=((3)/(2))rho`
