Assertion (A): A is very dilute acidic s...

Assertion (A): A is very dilute acidic solution of `Cd^(2+)` and `Ni^(2+)` gives yellow precipitate of `CdS` on passing hydrogen sulphide.
Reason (R) : Solubility product of `CdS` is more than that of `NiS`.

The correct Answer is:
a

In qualitative analysis of basic radicalls cation `Cd^(2+)` belongs to group II `Ni^(2+)` Belongs to group IV group II radicals are precipitate by passsing `H_(2)S` in acidic solution .They have low value of solubility products .But that of group IV are precipitate by passing `H_(2)S` in alkline solution and have high value of solubility products
Therefore on passing `H_(2)S` in acidic solution a yellow precipirtate of CuS is formed
