`3.7 gm` of gas at `25^(@)C` occupied the same volume as `0.184 gm` of hydrogen at `17^(@)C ` and at the same pressure. What is the molecular mass of the gas ?

Volume of `3.7 g ` of the gas at `25 ^(@)C`
= volume of 184 g of `H _(2)` of at `17^(@)C`
Since pressure and volume are same for both the gases,
`n _(2) R T_(1) = n _(2) RT_(2)`
or `n _(1) T _(1) = n _(2) T _(2).`
Let the molecular weight of the gas be M.
`(3.7)/(M) xx 298 = (0.184)/(2) 290`
`M = 41.32.`
