In the following circuit ,E1 = 4V, R1 = ...

In the following circuit ,`E_1 = 4V, R_1 = 2 Omega,`
`E_2 = 6 V, R_2 = 2Oemga, and R_3 = 4Omega.` Find the currents `i_1 and i_2`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For `loop (1): -2i_1 - 2(i_1 - I_2)+4 = 0`
or `2i_1 i_2 =2(i)`
For loop `(2): -4i_2 + 2(i_1 - i_2)+6 = 0`
or `3i_2 - i_1 =3 (ii)`
After solving Eqs. (i) and (ii) we get
`i_1 = 1.8 A and i_2 = 1.6A.
