Two charges of values 2 muC and -50 muC ...

Two charges of values `2 muC` and `-50 muC` are placed at a distance of 6 cm from each other. The distance of the point (in cm) from the bigger charge where the electric intensity will be zero is :

The correct Answer is:
5

In fig , let the electric intensity be zero at `P`, where `BP = x cm` and `AP = (6-x) cm`

`:. (k q_(1))/(AP^(2)) = (k q_(2))/(BP^(2))`
`(2)/((6-x)^(2)) = (50)/(x^(2))`
`(1)/(6-x) = (5)/(x)`
`x = 30 -5 x`
`6x = 30, x = 5 cm`
