Assertion : The difference in shapes of leaves produced in air and those produced in water in buttercup represent the heterophyllous development due to environment.
Reason : The phenomenon of heterophylly is an example of plasticity.

The correct Answer is:
b

Different structures are developed during different phases of growth as well as in response to environment. To cope up with the changes in environment, the plant organs also change their structures and it is called plasticity. Heterophylly is the occurrence of different types of leaves on the same plant in different growth phases or under different environmental conditions. In case of environmental plasticity shown by aquatic butter cup Ranunculus flabellaris, the submerged leaves are highly dissected while the emerged leaves are broad and lobed.

Assertion :- Buttercup produces two different kind of leaves within the same plant body. Reason:- Plants follow different pathways in response to environment or phases of life to form different kinds of structures, due to plasticity.

In some plants, the leaves of the juvenile plant are different in shape from those in mature plants. This is the heterophylly due to phases of life and seen in

Assertion : Loss of water produces a negative hydrostatic pressure. Reason : Positive hydrostatic pressure is developed due to osmotic entry of water into it.

Assertion (A): Different musical sounds are produced from percussioninstruments by exciting the stretched membrane at different tensions. Reason (R): Flute, bassoon, oboes are examples of drum instruments.

Assertion :- Growth regulators are intrinsic and intercellular factors which controls development of plant. Reason:- Growth regulators are produced by plant cell itself and work in cells other than those in which they synthesise.

Assertion : When a potential difference is applied across a conductor, free electrons stf travelling with a constant speed called drift speed. Reason : Due to potential difference an electric field is produced inside the conductor, which electrons experience a force.
