Pie Diagram Definition

Also known as the Pie graph, the pie diagram is a circular shaped graphical representation of the data. Invented in the year by 1801 by William Playfair, the pie chart is segregated into sectors, either referred by per cent, degrees and such other. There are many different types of pie charts. Pie charts include many types of diagrams using which the individual making the presentation can exhibit the data in many different forms and types as his wish persists. The concept of a pie chart is invented by William Playfair a foreigner in the year 1801. A pie chart is also called a pie graph or pie diagram.

The pie chart is a circular chart that is divided into sectors. Each sector of the pie graph shows the relative size of each value. As represented by the pie chart of the relative size, the value shown is the proportionate per cent of that category. The circular graph is the methodical representation of the allocated per cent. Thus, the pie chart can be used in the methodical representation and exhibiting the segregation of the data set.
