Anushree has to pay 4% sales tax in addition to the price of a certain article. Find the price of the article , if she pays Rs 260 in all.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let the price of article be Rs `x`
Then,
`x+4% `of `x = 260`
`x+4/100x = 260`
`x+ x/25 = 260`
`26x=260*25`
`=> x = 250`
Thus the price of the article is Rs `250`
