The length, breadth and height of a cubo...

The length, breadth and height of a cuboidal reservoir is 7m, 6m and 15m respectively. 8400 litre of water is pumped out from the reservoir. Find the fall in the water-level in the reservoir.

Length of a cuboidal reservoir = '7m'
Breadth of a cuboidal reservoir = '6 m'
Height of a cuboidal reservoir = '15 m'
Capacity of cuboidal reservoir ='Ixbxh=7x6 x 15 = 630 m³'
If 8400 L of water is pumped out,
In meter cubic = 8400 / 100 = 8.4 m³ [: 1 m³ = 1000L]
Volume reduced after pumped out= 630 - 8.4 =621.6 m³
length x breadth x reduced height = '621.6 m³
7×6× h = 621.6
621.6/42 = 14.8
h = 14.8 m'
Hence, the reduced height will be '14.8 m'
