Give the composition of Devarda's alloy. Which gas is evolved when it reduces nitrates in alkaline solutions?

Devarda's alloy contains Al (44%-46%), Cu(49%-51%) and Zn (4%-6% ). In alkaline solutions, it reduces nitrates to give ammonia quantitatively.
