In Kjeldahl's method, nitrogen present is estimated as `:`

A

`N_(2)`

B

`NH_(3)`

C

`NO_(2)`

D

none of these

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

In this method the nitrogen present is qunatitively converted into `(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)` on heating with conc. `H_(2)SO_(4)`. The `(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)` is then treated with standard solution to liberate `NH_(3)` , which is absorbed in `H_(2)SO_(4)` to obtain precentage of nitrogen
