A small body of mass m is attached to a light thread which passes through a hole at the centre of a smooth table. The body is set into rotation in a circle of radius `r_(1)` with a speed `v_(1)` . The thread is pulled down so that the radius of the path is changed to `r_(2)` . What will be the new linear speed and the new angular speed of the body ?

Text Solution
