Retroviruses have no DNA. However, the DNA of the infected host cell does possess viral DNA. How is it possible ?

After attacking the. host cell RNA genorne of the retro virus replicates to form viral DNA using reverse transcriptase enzyme. The viral DNA gets, incorporated into the host' cell DNA and directs the infected cells to produce more viruses. Hence, the infected host cells possess viral DNA.
