Homopolymer is a high molecular mass macromolecule (polymer) which is formed from one type of monomers . For examples , polythene is a homopolymer because it is formed from ethene monomer. Copolymer is a high molecular mass macromolecule (or polymer) which is formed from two or more different monomers. For examples. nylon-66 is a copolymer formed from hexamethylene diamine and adipic acid.
`underset("Hexamethylene diamine")(nH_2 N - (CH_2)_6 - NH_2) + nHOOC - underset("Adipic acid")((CH_2)_4) - COOH overset("Polymerisation")to underset("Nylon-66(copolymer)")([-NH-(CH_2)_6-NH-CO-(CH_2)_4-CO]_n)`
