One of the methods by which recombinant ...

One of the methods by which recombinant DNA can be introduced into host cell is by 'heat shock' treatment (electro-poration). Write down other three important methods by which we can introduce alien DNA into host cells .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

i. Micro-injection : Recombinant DNA is directly injected into the nucleus of animal cell.
ii. Biolistics or gene gun : Cells are bombarded with high velocity microparticles of gold or tungsten coated with DNA.
iii. By disarmed pathogen vectors : These vectors are allowed to infact the cell, which transfers the recombinant DNA into the host .
