Explain why fluorine forms only one oxoacid, HOF.

Fluorine does not form oxoacids such as HOFO, `HOF_(2)` and `HOFO_(3)` because of its high electronegativity and absence of rf-orbitals in its valance shell. Also, it cannot form dn-pn bonds. Thus, only one oxoacid (HOF) of fluorine is known.
