The organization conducting TG EAPCET has set specific qualification criteria. Here are the details:

  • General category candidates need to achieve a minimum of 25% of the maximum marks in TG EAPCET, which equals 40 marks out of the total 160 marks, to move to the next stage.
  • SC and ST category candidates are not required to meet the minimum qualifying marks; they are exempt from this requirement.

5.0TG EAPCET Results: Normalization Process

TG EAPCET, the exam will be conducted in multiple sessions with the same syllabus and pattern for candidates who meet the same eligibility criteria. Each candidate can participate in only one session, but since the question paper varies for each session, candidates may wonder about the differences in difficulty. To address this, a normalization process is employed to ensure fairness.

Normalized marks reflect candidates' actual performance while maintaining fairness. The mentioned normalization procedure is implemented, as it is followed in other competitive examinations in India:

Normalized marks of the candidate = GASD + (GTA − GASD) (STA − SASD) x (Marks obtained by the candidate in the subject in a session − SASD)

Where,

  • SASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of the subject of a session in which the candidate appeared.
  • GASD: Sum of Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of all the candidates across all sessions of the subject put together.
  • STA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the subject of a session in which the candidate appeared.
  • GTA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of all the candidates across all the sessions of the subject put together.

Note: In cases where candidates will not meet the qualifying cut-off in TG EAPCET and their normalized marks turn negative, these marks will be adjusted to zero. When a tie-break situation arises, these negative marks are still considered for resolution.

  • Priority will be given to candidates with higher scores in Mathematics, placing them higher on the merit list.
  • In the event of a continued tie, candidates with superior scores in Physics will be ranked higher.
