A soft iron rod is inserted in the solenoid. After this what will be the effect on the brightness of the bulb?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The brightness will decreases, because L increases on inserting the iron rid and impedence `Z= sqrt(R^(2)+(omega L)^(2))` increases. This decreases the current, hence brightness decreases.
