A cylinder containing one gram molecule of the gas was compressed adiabaticaly untill its tempertaure rose from `27^(@)C` to `97^(@)C`. Calculate the work done and heat produced in the gas `(gamma=1.5)`.

Here, `n=1, T_(1)= 27^(@)C= (27+273)K=300K`
`T_(2)= 97^(@)C= (97+273)K=370K, W=?`
`H=?`
`W=R(1-gamma) (T_(2)-T_(1))= (8.31(370-300))/(1-1.5)`
`= -1162J`
Here, produced, `H=W/J= (1162)/(4.2)= 276.7 cal`.
