Two different gases A and B are enclosed in two vessels at pressure `P_(1)` and `P_(2)` respectively. If temperature of both the gases is the same, what will be the ratio of average `KE//"molecule"` of the two gases ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Average `KE//"molecule"` of a gas =`3/2 kT`. It depends only on temperature and not on pressure of the gas. As temperature of both the gases is the same, therefore, ratio of `KE//"molecule"` of two gases will be one.
