Volume of vessel A is twice the volume of vessel B. Both are filled with the same gas. If gas in A is at twice the temerature and twice the pressure to the gas in B, what is the ratio of gas molecules in A and B ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As `PV = nRT, n=(PV)/(RT)`
if `n_(B) = (PV)/(RT) , n_(A) = (2 P2V)/(R(@T)) = (2 PV)/(RT) = 2n_(B)`
`:. (n_A)/(n_B) = 2/1`.

The volume of vessel A is twice the volume of another vessel B and both of them are filled with the same gas. If the gas in A is at twice the temperature and twice the pressure in comparison to the gas in B, what is the ratio of number of gas molecule in A and B ?

Two vessels of the same volume and filled with the same gas at the same temperature. If the pressure of the gas in these vessel be in the ratio 1:2, then state : (i) the ratio of the rms speeds of the molecules, (ii) the ratio of the number of molecules.

Two vessels of the same volume contain the same gas at same temperature. If the pressure in the vessels is in the ratio of 1 : 2, then

The volume of gas A is twice than that of gas B. The compressibility factor of gas A is thrice than that of gas B at same temperature. The pressures of the gases for equal number of moles are:
