Find the equation of the tangent to t...

Find the equation of the tangent to the curve `y=sqrt(3x-2)` which is parallel to the line `4x-2y+5=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Slope of the given line is 2
Let `(x_{1}, y_{1})` be the point where the tangent is drawn to the curvey `=sqrt{3 x-2}`
Since, the point lies on the curve.
Hence,`y_{1}=sqrt{3 x_{1}-2} ldots` (1)
Now,`y=sqrt{3 x-2}`
`Rightarrow frac{d y}{d x}=frac{3}{2 sqrt{3 x-2}}`
Slope of tangent at `(x_{1}, y_{1})=frac{3}{2 sqrt{3 x_{1}-2}}`
Given that
