Addition polymers: The polymers which are obtained by direct addition of repeating monomer units without any side product, are .called addition polymers.

This polymerisation takes place among the monomers which contain dquble bonds.
This polymerisation takes place among the monomers which contain dquble bonds. Condensation polymers : The polymers which are obtained by the process of condensation of monomers with the removal of small and simple molecules like `H_2, HCl , CO_2` atc. are known as condensation polymers. For example, nylon - 66 is obtained by the condensation of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid units. i.e.,

This polymerisation takes place among the monomers which have polyfunctional groups.
