`[SiF_(6)]^(2-)` is known where as `[SiCl_(6)]^(2-)` not. Reason is

The main reasons are :
(i) Due to smaller size of F as compared to Cl, six small F atoms can be easily accomodated around Si atom but six large Cl atoms cannot.
(ii) The lone pair of electrons on F are present in a smaller 2p-orbital but in Cl they are present on a larger 3p-orbital. Therefore, interaction of F lone pair electrons with d-orbitals of silicon are stronger than that of Cl lone pairs.

[SiF_(6)]^(2-) is known whereas [SiC_(6)]^(2-) not. The main reason is/are I Six large chloride ions cannot be accommodated around Si^(4+) due to limitation of its size. II. Interaction between lone pair of chloride ion and Si^(4+) is not very strong. Choose the correct option.

Assertion: SiF_(6)^(2-) is known but SiCl_(6)^(2-) is not. Reason: Size of fluorine is small and its lone pair of electrons intersects with d-orbitals of Si strongly.

Why [SiCl_(6)]^(-) cannot exist?

a. Select the member s of grop 14 that (i) forms the most acidic diozide (ii) is commonly found in +2 oxidation state and (iii) used as se,ocpmdictpr . (Solved NCEGT Pronlem 11.5 ) b. |SiF_5^(2-) is known, whereas |SiCl_5|^(2-) not. Glve possible preasons . (Solved NCEGT Pronlem 11.6 ) c . Diamond is covalent , yet covelnt , yet it has high melting point . Why ? (Solved NCEGT Pronlem 11.7 ) .

[SiF_(6)]^(2-) is a well known compound but [SiCl_(6)[^(2-) is not. Explain.

Assertion SiF_(6)^(2-) anion exists but CF_(6)^(2-) does not Reasoning Si atom vacnat d-orbital while C-atom has not .

Statement-I: SiF_(6)^(-2) is known but SiCl_(6)^(-2) in not known Statement-II: Interaction of 'F' lone pair electrons with 'Si' is stronger than that of chlorine and due to smaller size of 'F' steric repulsion will bel less.
