CUET UG 2025 Syllabus

Are you ready to embark on your journey to get admission into India’s prestigious universities by preparing for the Combined University Entrance Test CUET UG exam? 1.0CUET UG 2025 Exam Pattern: A Brief Introduction 

Before delving into the complete CUET syllabus, it is important to have a basic idea of the CUET exam pattern. The common university entrance test for UG is conducted in three sections, namely I, II, and III. with:

  • Section I: it consists of a language-based exam. 
  • Section II: it is the domain-specific subject-based paper. 
  • Section III: General Aptitude test. 

Key Points 

  • Each section is conducted in a time frame of 60 minutes in a multiple-choice questions(MCQ) type format, with each question having 4 options. 
  • Each question consists of a positive marking of 5 for the correct answer and a negative marking for the incorrect answer. 
  • The exam is conducted in 13 different languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
  • Each session contains 50 questions, of which 40 need to be attempted.

Session I: Language-based exam

It will be tested through testing of: 

  • Reading Comprehension is based on different types of passages.
  • Factual, Literary and Narrative, Literary Aptitude, grammar, and Vocabulary(Synonyms and Antonyms).

Session II: Domain Subject 

10+2 NCERT complete syllabus, including some old topics. 

Session III: General aptitude test (GAT)

CUET syllabus for general aptitude tests includes: 

General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Arithmetic / Algebra / Geometry / Mensuration / Statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning. 

3.0CUET Syllabus for Different Streams

The National Testing Agency offers 23 different domain-specific subjects according to different streams. Students can choose any 3 subjects according to the specific needs of a bachelor's degree. Different institutions use different combinations of subjects for specific degrees. 

CUET Syllabus For Every Student 

The National Testing Agency offers a wide array of subjects for every stream, including science, commerce, and arts students. These are subjects, along with their detailed syllabi, that can be chosen by every student: 

  • Agriculture: Agrometeorology, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Biochemistry and Microbiology, Livestock Production, Crop Production, & Horticulture.
  • Political Science: Politics in India Since Independence, & Contemporary World Politics.
  • Anthropology: Physical Anthropology, Prehistoric Archaeology, Material Culture and Economic Anthropology, Social Anthropology and Ethnography, & Ecology.
  • Economics: Microeconomics, Consumer Behaviour and Demand, National Income and Related Aggregates, Determination of Income and Employment, Money and Banking, Government Budget and the Economy, Balance of Payments, & Indian Economic development related topics.
  • Geography: Human Geography, Human Activities, Transport, Communication and Trade, & Human Settlements, India: People and Economy.
  • History: Harappa Archaeology, Political and Economic History, Social Histories using the Mahabharata, A History of Buddhism, Medieval Society, Religious Histories, New Architecture, Agrarian Relations, The Mughal Court, Colonialism and Rural Society.
  • Home Science: Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Human Development: Lifespan Approach, Fabric and Apparel, Resource Management, Communication and Extension, & Career Options after Home Science Education.

  • Fine Arts (Art, Education, painting, and Sculpture): The Mughal and Deccan schools of miniature painting, The Bengal School & Cultural Nationalism, The Modern trends In Indian Art, The Rajasthani & Pahari Schools of Miniature Painting (16th Century A.D to 19th Century A.D.)
  • Accountancy: Accounting NonProfit Organisations, Accounting for Partnerships, Reconstitution of Partnerships, Dissolution of Partnership Firms, Accounting for Share and Debenture Capital, Analysis of Financial Statements, Statement of Changes in Financial Position, etc.
  • Business Studies: Nature & Significance of Management, Principles of Management, Planning, Business Environment, Organising, Staffing, Directing, Controlling, Business Finance, Financial Markets, Marketing, Consumer Protection, Entrepreneurship Development.

Stream Specific Subjects (CUET Syllabus for B.Sc. Students) 

Although Science students can also pursue a bachelor of arts and bachelor of commerce with different core subjects, most commonly, science students have an interest in pursuing a BSc. The science students typically have PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology). The CUET 2025 Syllabus for PCM students is:

  • Mathematics CUET Syllabus:  The mathematics CUET Syllabus for PCM students consists of Algebra, Calculus, Integration and its Application, Differential Equation, Probability Distribution, Linear Programming, Relations and Functions, Vectors and Three Dimensional Geometry, Numbers, Quantification, and Numerical Applications. 
  • Biology CUET Syllabus: The CUET syllabus for biology includes Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and its Application, Ecology and Environment. 
  • CUET Syllabus for Physics: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, and Communication Systems are some topics included in CUET Syllabus for Physics.

  • Computer Science Syllabus: To get admission into BSc Hons Computer Science, it is necessary to take computer science as a domain-specific subject paper, and the syllabus for the same is Exception and File Handling in Python, Database Concepts, Structured Query Language, Computer Networks, Exception and File Handling in Python, Stack, Queue, Searching, Sorting, Understanding Data, Database Concepts, Structured Query Language, Computer Language, etc.
