Familiarise yourself with the CUET UG syllabus to understand what topics are covered in which section. You can then allocate your time perfectly while narrowing it down to the most crucial subjects. As mentioned above, The CUET UG exam consists of multiple sections, and each section has a particular syllabus:

Section

Syllabus

Section I: Language Tests

  • Reading Comprehension: There will be three types of passages that are Factual, Narrative, and Literary
  • Verbal Ability
  • Rearranging the parts

Section III: General Aptitude Test

  • General Knowledge, Current Affairs,
  • General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability,
  • Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Quantitative arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/statistics),
  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
  1. Make a Personalised Study plan to fit your schedule: A well-structured study plan is the key to staying on top of your preparation. Plan what you are going to study every day and stick to a routine. Make sure you allocate sufficient time for each section according to its difficulty and weight. For instance, if you are stronger in your chosen domain subject, you would want to spend more time in the General Test or language sections.
  2. Practice with Mock and Previous Year Papers: Mock tests and Previous year papers (PYQs) are some of the best materials to analyse your progress as well as to identify weak spots. These tests and PYQs will help you gain real-time experience with the actual exam day of CUET UG, help you plan time management, and familiarise you with the question pattern. This consistent practice by mock tests and PYQs helps increase your speed, accuracy, and confidence.
  3. Revise Regularly: Revision is essential to hold the information for a long term. Allow time each week to revise the information learned. If the topics are concept-oriented, such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, dedicate more time for revision during the week. During the latter stages of preparations before the exam day, increase your frequency of revising and major on key formulas, concepts, and topics that are harder for you to understand.
  4. Don’t Try to Learn Each & Everything: During preparation for the CUET UG, you will come across some topics that may seem tough for you. Don’t get stuck on preparing for such topics, especially a few weeks before the exam. Instead, revise your strong subjects to enhance your accuracy.
  5. Be Cautious of Negative Marking: As mentioned already CUET UG has a negative marking, so be careful in giving the answers. In case you do not know the answer to a question, then you must try to eliminate the wrong options before making a blind guess. Blind guesswork should be avoided except where there is a fair possibility of being correct. This way, you can minimise damage from wrong answers.
